Tuition & Financial Aid
Tuition
PLAIN & SIMPLE: We will make it affordable for your family to attend Living Word. That is our mission.
Now, let's talk specifics...

The annual tuition for a traditional student of the 2025-2027 school year is $9,700. This is before any tuition assistance. Living Word Lutheran DOES provide financial aid packages. Please contact Mr. Dave Miskimen, LWLHS Executive Director, especially in the event that financial difficulty may burden your decision to attend Living Word.

A few ways we make it affordable from the start:
-
NO fees for
-
Activities or sports
-
Student parking space
-
Changing classes
-
Books
-
-
Have multiple children at LWLHS at the same time? Tuition for additional full-time students from the same family is $1,000 less than the initial member of the family.
-
Do you or your spouse work at an LCMS church or school? We offer an LCMS worker discount.

The application fee is due when the student’s initial online application is completed in FACTS. The application fee must be paid before a student will be considered for financial aid or allowed to attend classes. A student will be responsible for the tuition of any grading period (9-week quarter) in which he/she is enrolled, i.e., a part of a quarter’s attendance will constitute a full quarter’s tuition.

Important admissions & financial aid dates:

By December 31 - $200 application fee applied towards tuition, plus an additional $250 tuition credit
By March 15 - Financial aid application due. Families are able to file now and can use last year's tax documents.

Financial Aid
Each year we hear from several families that need financial assistance for their children’s tuition. We believe that cost should not be a barrier to an education at Living Word.
A third-party company, FACTS, will assess each applicant’s ability to contribute to their children’s tuition costs. FACTS will provide confidential, standardized and impartial processing of your financial aid request. They in turn will recommend a financial aid amount for your family. Living Word will then review and communicate the decision to you.
Click here to access the financial aid application through FACTS Management. Please note: Online enrollment is required before applying for financial aid.

In the Grant & Aid application in FACTS, you must submit tax documents from the prior year (ex: If enrolling for 2021-2022 school year, you will need to upload the 2020 Tax Documents.) Documents include the 1040 Form, W2 Form, and current paystub.
Alumni Grant
Eligibility:
-
For students whose parent or legal guardian is an alumni of Living Word Lutheran High School.
Amount of the Grant
-
$500 per year per family
-
LW Alumni Grant MAY be combined with financial aid and other scholarship awards
Private School Choice Program
Families who meet the standards set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction may apply for a voucher to Living Word based on household income and residency requirements. A voucher may be applied for through either the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program or the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program, depending on your residency. We advise all applicants to consider applying for the voucher first, and then apply for Tuition Assistance through FACTS if they do not qualify.
Click here to apply for School Choice.

The Choice Program covers full tuition at our school; however, choice families are still responsible for payments for lunch, dual credit, CAPP classes, AP exams, field trips, Winterim class fees, graduation and a personal yearbook.
Tuition Tax Deduction
Parents/guardians are eligible for a maximum deduction of $4,000 per child in grades K-8 and $10,000 per child grades 9-12 for eligible payments made during the calendar year, regardless of income. If your student moves from 8th grade to high school in the same tax year you may claim both tuition expenses up to $10,000. For more information please see: WCRIS Tax Deduction Page.
